A whirpool of beauty and contradictions
My first international trip in one of the most diverse countries I could think of visiting at the time. Triggered by a friend getting married, we went on to an adventure of almost three weeks, 100 years old in four, travelling around the northern part of India and spending a week in Nepal as well. To account for the vastity of the land and our will to reach places from Jaipur to Agra to Kolkata, we took four night trains and were among the many to crowd the stations, full of people even at night. I could survive food poisoning and frequent visits to the toilet, but the airco killed me one day when it was set 20 degrees lower than the outside temperature, making me cough for few days. Other than that, a thrilling experience visiting sacred temples, the holy city of Varanasi, attending my friend's wedding with the traditional Sanskrit ceremony, trekking the astonishing Nepalese mountains... and much much more!
